What is insurance-covered glass replacement?
Most comprehensive (kasko) policies, and some add-on packages, include glass breakage cover. Insurance-covered replacement means your windscreen, side, rear or roof glass is replaced with your insurer's approval under that cover. The process is claim notification, photo or assessor review, approval and fitting. We run every step on your behalf. See our insurance glass replacement page for partner insurers and details.
Advantages
- We notify the claim and open the file
- With partner insurers no upfront payment is needed; you only pay any excess
- Glass stock is reserved while approval is pending
- ADAS calibration needed after a covered windscreen replacement is added to the claim
- Workshop or on-site service
Who is it for?
Anyone with glass cover in their comprehensive policy, a separate glass policy or a fleet/company car. If you are not sure whether you have glass cover, call us with your policy number or plate and we will check it together.
What matters?
- Excess: some policies require you to pay a fixed amount or percentage for glass claims. Policies with excess-free glass cover have no extra payment.
- Original or equivalent glass: your policy may specify original or OEM-equivalent glass.
- Claims record and no-claims discount: in many policies a glass claim does not affect your no-claims discount, but this depends on your policy. We clarify it with your insurer before opening the claim.
- Annual limit: some policies limit the number of glass replacements per year.
What you need
A copy or photo of the registration, driving licence, policy number and photos of the damaged glass are usually enough. You can send them via the quote form.
After the replacement
We send the invoice and photos to the insurer and follow the claim until it is closed. Your coded warranty certificate also applies to insured jobs.

Frequently asked
Is there an excess on insured glass replacement, and will I lose my no-claims discount?
This depends entirely on your policy. Many comprehensive policies include a set number of excess-free glass replacements per year and glass claims do not affect the no-claims discount; however, some policies have an excess, an equivalent-glass condition or other limits. When we receive your request we obtain pre-approval from your insurer using your policy details and tell you clearly, before any work, if you have anything to pay.
