The project story
Need
An airport transfer company was worried about both visibility and vehicle inspections because of chips accumulating on its windscreens. As the vehicles are on the road at all hours, the work had to fit between trips.
Solution
We queued the vehicles according to the trip schedule at the company’s parking area in Ataköy. Small chips outside the driver’s field of view were repaired by resin injection, each taking about half an hour. For cracks in the driver’s field of view or reaching the edge, we recommended windscreen replacement instead of repair. Replaced vehicles were not sent out until the adhesive’s safe drive-away time had passed; we built this time into the trip plan in advance. We handled the insured vehicles’ claims with the insurers.
Process
Every job was logged with plate, date, work done and glass brand, so the company can track which vehicle was repaired when, and its warranty coverage, from a single list.
Result
The fleet’s windscreens were all dealt with within two weeks without cancelling a single transfer. Drivers were briefed on reporting chips early, and an on-site inspection day every three months was agreed with the company.
