What is rear window replacement?
The rear (tailgate) window is tempered glass in most cars and carries demister heating lines and, on some models, a printed radio or GPS antenna. On hatchbacks, SUVs and estates it is bonded to the tailgate; on saloons it sits in the body with a rubber seal or adhesive. Replacement requires these connections to be transferred correctly and the glass to be fitted watertight.

Who is it for?
Owners whose rear glass broke while reversing, from a slammed tailgate, hail or vandalism. A broken rear window leaves the car unsecured, so we recommend replacing it as soon as possible and can fit a temporary cover if needed.

After the replacement
For bonded glass, do not drive for the first hour and avoid slamming the tailgate on the first day. Switch on the demister for a few minutes and check that the whole glass clears evenly. Small fragments may surface from trim gaps over time; come by for a free clean-up.
If you must drive a short distance with a broken rear window, cover the opening with clear plastic and tape to limit exhaust fumes entering the cabin. Do not collect fragments by hand; our team cleans up during the replacement. For glass not in stock, we confirm the supply time in writing with the quote.
