What is side window replacement?

Door windows and rear quarter windows are tempered glass in most cars. When tempered glass breaks it shatters into small, blunt pieces; this safety feature also means it cannot be repaired. Side window replacement involves removing the door panel, cleaning the fragments that fell inside the door, attaching the new glass to the window regulator and adjusting it with the seals.

After the replacement

On the first day, fully open and close the window to check it seats in the seal. If the one-touch function stops working, close the window fully and hold the switch for a few seconds to reset it. If you hear rattling inside the door later, come by for a free check.

After a break-in, keep the police report as it may be needed for an insurance claim. If the lock, mirror or trim were also damaged, we note and photograph them during the replacement so you have a clear record for the claim and later repairs.
