Volkswagen windscreen and ADAS
From the Golf 7 onwards, and on many versions of the Passat B8, Polo VI, T-Roc and Tiguan, Volkswagen mounts a multi-function camera on the windscreen. It feeds Lane Assist, traffic-sign recognition and high-beam assist. Because the camera angle can shift by fractions of a degree after replacement, we never hand the car back without ADAS calibration.
Glass options
- Acoustic windscreens are common on higher Passat and Tiguan trims.
- Heated and head-up display compatible glass needs a different part number depending on equipment.
- The correct glass is identified from the VIN; the wrong one can distort the camera’s view.
