What is sunroof glass replacement?
Sunroof and panoramic roof glass is usually tempered and on some models laminated, attached to a frame, a rail mechanism or directly to the body. A thrown stone, sudden temperature change, heavy snow load or strain on the mechanism can break it. Replacement means cleaning out the broken glass without damaging the headliner, attaching the new glass to the mechanism and adjusting its height.

Care
Blocked drain channels are the most common cause of water entering around a sunroof. We recommend cleaning the channels once a year and conditioning the seals with a silicone product. In winter, do not melt ice on the glass with hot water; the sudden temperature change can stress new glass too.
If you have not used the sunroof for a long time, open and close it fully a few times in spring to check the mechanism. Grit and dried grease on the rails cause rubbing noises; servicing includes rail cleaning and lubrication with the right grease. This small job also reduces the risk of a strained mechanism breaking the glass.
