When you decide to have a glass balcony installed, the first question is almost always the same: "How much per square metre?" There is no single answer. Two balconies of the same size can be priced quite differently depending on the system, the glass type and the condition of the building. In this guide we explain the 2026 starting prices by system, the factors that change the price and how to get a quote without surprises.
2026 glass balcony starting prices per m²
The figures below are "from" prices for installations in standard sizes with 8 mm clear tempered glass. VAT is included; the final price is given in writing at the free survey, after measurements are taken.
| System | Starting price (m²) | Key feature | |---|---|---| | Sliding glass balcony | from 3,800 TL | Economical, simple to use | | Standard folding glass balcony | from 4,500 TL | Opens fully, the most common system | | Threshold-free glass balcony | from 5,200 TL | No floor rail, level access | | Double-glazed folding glass balcony | from 7,800 TL | Double glass, thermal and acoustic insulation | | Guillotine glass system | from 8,500 TL | Vertical, motorised opening |
This table is a starting point. For a quick estimate for your own balcony, just enter the width and height in the glass balcony price calculator.
The main price factors
1. Size and total area
Prices are usually calculated per m², but on very small balconies fixed costs (profile cutting, the installation crew, transport) weigh more. That is why the price per m² looks higher on balconies under 4 m². As the balcony gets larger, the unit price evens out.
2. Glass type
Standard quotes are based on 8 mm clear tempered glass. Choosing 10 mm tempered glass, smoked or bronze tinted glass or double glazing raises the price. Low-E coated double glazing sits at the top of the range because it provides sun and heat control. On north-facing, windy balconies the difference double glazing makes is clearly felt in winter.
3. Profile colour and finish
White and grey anodised profiles are standard. Anthracite, bronze, wood-effect or custom RAL powder-coated profiles require extra work and add a few points to the price. Keep in mind that building managements often require a specific colour to keep the facade consistent.
4. Number of corners and balcony shape
A straight balcony and an L- or U-shaped balcony will not cost the same even at the same area. Every corner means an extra corner profile, special connections and a longer installation. Curved or angled balconies are made entirely to measure.
5. Floor height and scaffolding
On lower floors installation can be done safely from inside. On higher floors, if work from the outside is needed, scaffolding, a cherry picker or rope access may be required. This item is clarified at the survey and shown separately in the quote.
6. Extra accessories
Add-ons such as pleated blinds, insect screens, drip profiles, locking systems and railing renewal affect the total budget. You can ask for any accessory you don't need to be removed from the quote.
What to watch for in a cheap quote
You may come across very low prices per m². When comparing, these questions help:
- Is the glass really tempered, and how thick is it?
- Are the profile wall thickness and alloy specified?
- Do the rollers, hinges and seals have a stated brand and warranty?
- Are installation, transport and removal of the old system included?
- Is the warranty period given in writing?
Comparing two quotes that don't contain the same items is misleading. Asking for an itemised written quote is the safest approach.
The survey and quote process
- Request: You fill in the get a quote form or call us.
- Free survey: Our specialist measures the balcony and checks the floor and ceiling.
- Written quote: System, glass, colour and accessory options are sent with their prices.
- Production and installation: After approval, everything is made to measure; installation usually takes one day.
- Warranty certificate: After installation you receive a coded warranty certificate, which you can verify on the warranty check page.
Which system suits me?
If budget is your priority, a sliding system is a good start. If you want to open the balcony completely, choose a folding system; for year-round use and thermal insulation, the double-glazed folding system stands out. For other common questions see our FAQ page. The most accurate step towards a final price is measurement: the survey is free and the quote does not change at installation.
